Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

I hope you are snuggled in, nearly ready for the holidays. The Deschutes River Athletic Complex had a dusting of snow this week, and now it is beautifully clear and sunny!

Winter has arrived for a few days as we heat up getting ready for track meets and events in 2022!

The award winning paving job ready for the Beynon Surface as soon as the weather is dry and over 50 degrees this spring!

I wanted to send you a personal note to update you on the track project progress in Maupin. The Deschutes River Athletic Complex is becoming a reality! We finished up on Phase 1 this fall. We have leveled the field, installed draining, irrigation, lighting underground, 3 out of 4 light pole bases, concrete curbing and asphalt layer. Beynon Sports is ready to pour the polyurethane running surface, this spring. It was critical this fall, to achieve the 4-week asphalt cure time prior to the pour. And, as luck would have it, the weather turned too cool and rainy the day the cure time was up! https://www.maupindrac.org/

Beynon will lay this surface this spring.

We have successfully paid for all the work to date! Amazing!! But, the project isn’t quite completed yet. Our next fundraising goal is to raise $300,000 for the polyurethane pour this coming spring. We do have some additional grants in process, and continue to receive private donations daily.

The Light Pole Bases are in. We are now funding the lights to host football, track meets, events all year long

However, this project has really happened due to grass roots, small giving of our community and interested folks like you! As we approach year end, can you consider donating to the DRAC project via our 501c3, Maupin Area Chamber Endowment? It is tax deductible! We still accept stock, cash, check and PayPal donations. We are also set up to receive donations through Benevity Giving, a program used by Intel, Nike & Google.

This is just one example for a style of grandstands at DRAC

Additionally, we are looking for specific donors/sponsors for additional Phase work. (field lighting completion $200k, seating/viewing area completion $150k, stage $300k) If you have any contacts that you recommend I approach, please refer them to me.

Rob & I are very excited to see this project finished and are proud to be part of a positive Oregon story, just in time for the World Championships '22 in Eugene next year. Maupin is amazing!

Thank you for your consideration and hope to see you out in our area this coming spring! Merry Christmas!
